We produce everything in Portugal, not because it’s easy,

but because it matters.

Local production lets us work closely with skilled makers, ensure fair conditions, support family-run factories, and maintain Taippe’s quality.

Whenever possible, we work with natural and cellulose fibres. To avoid producing fabric unnecessarily, we prioritise repurposing existing stock from Portuguese factories. This reduces waste, extends the life of materials already made, and allows us to design responsibly without compromising quality.

By sourcing locally in Portugal, we are able to support skilled manufacturers, maintain close relationships with our suppliers, and reduce the environmental impact associated with transportation. We believe in working with what already exists, finding value in overlooked materials and giving them new life through thoughtful design.

We create in small batches, use responsible materials, repurpose existing fabrics, and pay the true cost of craftsmanship.
Each piece reflects the real value of the people, time, and expertise behind it.

What are natural and cellulose fibres?

Natural and cellulose fibres are derived from plants, animals, or naturally occurring raw materials. Natural fibres are used in their original form such as cotton, wool, linen, or silk. While cellulose fibres are made from plant-based sources like wood pulp, which are gently processed into soft, versatile fabrics.

Care & longevity

We design with longevity in mind. How a garment is cared for plays an important role in its lifespan. Washing less, choosing lower temperatures, and repairing when needed can significantly reduce environmental impact and help extend the life of each piece.
